VoIP Phones
VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol.
Please holdIn simple terms, it means your phone works through the internet instead of old phone lines.
If that explanation confused you, don't worry. We will repeat it slowly during the sales call.
Features
- Hold music
- One song. Eleven seconds long. Looped until one of you gives up.
- Auto-attendant
- A phone menu with nine options, none of which is what you need. Pressing zero hangs up on you.
- Call forwarding
- Straight to voicemail. Very efficient.
- Voicemail to email
- So you can ignore messages in two places at once.
- Mobile app
- Your desk phone, on your cell phone, so work can find you at your kid's recital.
- Call quality
- Depends on your internet, which is your problem.
The annoyingly correct part
VoIP quality lives or dies on your network. Before switching, a decent provider checks your internet bandwidth and sets your router to prioritize voice traffic. Also: know how your 911 calls get routed and what your location on file is. That one matters.
